About Malacca Places Of Interest

Area Information

Melaka town is small and is easy to navigate by foot, bicycle or trishaw. The most interesting parts are near the river and along the original waterfront. Here, particularly around the Dutch built town hall, you will find a number of churches and the Cultural Museum. The other side of the river bank is the Chinatown where other but more interesting architectural landmarks are worth visiting. Boat trips down the river make it possible to view the lifestyles of the people in the area and see more historic architecture en-route.

Also, the islands along the stretch of Melaka’s beaches are popular destinations for holidaymakers and weekenders. Hiring a boat or going on a tour is a worthwhile way to see the area. More so, the jungle walks on the island is also highly recommended.
